Filmfare is one of the most prestigious awards for the film fraternity which recognizes the best films, actors, directors, and technicians. This award show is a celebration of films. A lot of actors perform and entertain the audience and fans look forward to this award night every year. Filmfare is back this year with its 67th edition and it was organized on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in Mumbai.
So you might be wondering who won the Best Actor, right? The jury selected Ranveer Singh as the ‘Best Actor in a Lead Role (Male)’ for essaying Kapil Dev’s character in the sports drama ‘83’. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone shared a sweet kiss while accepting the black lady.
Kriti Sanon bagged the ‘Best Actress in a Lead Role (female)’ for ‘Mimi’. She played the character of a surrogate mother very beautifully and had even gained weight for the character. Vicky Kaushal even bagged the ‘Best Actor (Critic’s Choice)’ for depicting the character of Sardar Udham Singh, the freedom fighter in a biographical historical drama ‘Sardar Udham’. For this film, ‘Mansi Mehta and Dmitrii Malich’ won 'Best Production Design and costume designer, Veera Kapur Ee was awarded 'Best Costume Designs'. Avik Mukhopadhyay won the award in 'Best Cinematography' followed by Shantanu Moitra who won an award in 'Best Background Score' category. Also, the ‘Best Screenplay’ award went to Sardar Udham.
Meanwhile, Shershaah added another golden feather to the film. This biographical war drama based on the 1999 Kargil War shined at the 67th Filmfare Awards bagging the ‘Best Film’ awards. Vishnuvardhan, the director of the film was recognized with the ‘Best Director’ trophy. The film's music received the ‘Best Music Album’ award, with Asees Kaur receiving the ‘Best Playback Singer - Female’ award for 'Raataan Lambiyan' and B Praak as ‘Best Playback Singer - Male.’
Apart from this, Vidya Balan also bagged the ‘Best Actress in a Lead Role (female)’ for ‘Sherni’ while ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ won the ‘Best Story’. Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar were announced as the ‘Best Actor in the Supporting Role’ for Laxman Utekar’s ‘Mimi’.
Legendary director, producer, and filmmaker Subhash Ghai was honoured ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award for outstanding contribution to Indian cinema over the years.
